VVTA regularly evaluates and updates its services to better meet the needs of the communities we serve. As the Victor Valley and Barstow regions continue to grow and evolve, transit service must adapt to connect riders with the destinations that matter most.
These service improvements are designed to provide more efficient, reliable, and convenient transportation options by aligning routes with current travel patterns and areas of greatest demand. Our goal is to enhance the rider experience by creating stronger connections to popular destinations, improving route performance, and ensuring transit remains a practical and valuable transportation choice for our communities.
Beginning Sunday, July 5, VVTA will introduce several service improvements designed to provide more convenient connections and reliable service for our riders.
Students and commuters traveling between the High Desert and California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) now have a faster option.
The new Route 15X provides direct service between the Victor Valley Transportation Center (VVTC) and CSUSB, without continuing through San Bernardino or Fontana. This means less travel time and a more convenient trip to campus.
+ Depart VVTC: 9:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
+ Depart CSUSB: 10:50 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Route 27 has been adjusted to better serve the Barstow community.
Recent improvements include:
+ New service to Barstow Church of God in Christ with a new bus stop on Sage Drive.
+ Schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance
+ New time point stop added at Montara Road and Armory Road
Getting to and from Wellness Center is now easier.
Route 31 will continue beyond the Victor Valley Transportation Center (VVTC) to provide shuttle service to the Victorville Wellness Center. After arriving at VVTC, the bus will travel to the Wellness Center and return to VVTC, allowing riders to conveniently connect with other VVTA routes.
This service is now a permanent feature on most trips and operates 7 days a week.
To improve service reliability, weekday morning departure times on Route 114 have been adjusted. Weekday morning trips will be adjusted to depart Bear Valley Park and Ride at 4:32 am & 5:33 am, VVTC will depart at 4:44 am & 5:45 am.

VVTA passengers riding Route 27 will soon have improved access to Barstow Church of God in Christ and the surrounding neighborhood.
Effective Sunday, May 31, 2026, Route 27 will begin servicing a new bus stop located on Sage Drive near Barstow Church of God in Christ. The new stop is identified as Bus Stop #30298.
The route adjustment is designed to improve accessibility and convenience for passengers traveling in the area, including church members, nearby residents, and community visitors.
Passengers are encouraged to review updated route information and plan accordingly prior to travel.

VVTA is inviting you to provide input or seek further information on the Federally Funded Program of Projects and the FY 27 Annual Operating and Capital Budget.
The VVTA Board of Directors encourages residents to participate in the development of the Victor Valley Transit Authority fiscal year 2026-27 budget. The budget presentations and public meetings will provide opportunities to learn about the Agency’s financial outlook and share input before the final FY 2026-27 budget is adopted.
The federally funded program of projects will become final with no further posting, unless amended. If approved by the Board the final Fiscal Year 2026/27 Budget will be effective July 1, 2026.

In observance of Memorial Day, there will be No VVTA Bus Service on Monday, May 25, 2026. The VVTA Administrative Office will also be closed for the holiday.
This day allows our bus operators, dispatchers, maintenance staff, mechanics, and administrative team time to enjoy the holiday with their families, friends, and loved ones.
Regular bus service and normal Administrative Office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) Annual Mobility Needs Public Hearing will be held on Monday, June 8, at 10:00 AM at the Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) facility located at 17150 Smoke Tree Street, Hesperia, CA 92345.
This public hearing provides community members, riders, seniors, and individuals with disabilities an opportunity to share feedback regarding transportation and mobility needs throughout the region. Public input helps guide future transportation planning and improvements.
VVTA encourages all interested community members to attend and participate in the discussion.

It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to VVTA’s beloved Shelly Cable. Shelly has been one of this organization’s pillars since her first role as a coach operator. She loved this company deeply and held VVTA and each one of its employees in a special place in her heart. Even through the challenging medical conditions she faced over the past several months, she remained committed to VVTA’s best interests. Her determination to continue in her role, together with her courageous and fighting spirit, inspired so many of us, especially those who knew about the battle she was facing.
Many of us were fortunate to see and speak with her over the past few days. Even in her moments of pain, she continued to hold VVTA close, discussing work and what still needed to be done. Her dedication never wavered.
As we take a moment to reflect on the remarkable person she was, we recognize how deeply she touched the lives of so many, not only within VVTA’s extended family, but also among other business partners who had the privilege of working with her. Some saw Shelly as a dear colleague, loving and caring friend, sister or even a mother figure.
On behalf of VVTA, we extend our sincere condolences to her family, knowing that her spirit is now at peace and free from pain.

At its recent Board of Directors meeting, the Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) proudly recognized Diane Euker for her extraordinary efforts in support of Transit Employee Appreciation Day and her ongoing encouragement of VVTA staff.
Diane, a regular rider, has become known throughout the agency as its “(un)Official Senior Transit Advocate.” Her connection to VVTA runs deep, as she often shares how access to transit has enriched her life, allowing her to stay active, engaged, and connected to the community.
In celebration of Transit Employee Appreciation Day, Diane went above and beyond by assembling more than 100 “T.E.A.” (Transit Employee Appreciation) packs for VVTA employees. Each bag, filled with tea and cookies, was personally prepared as a gesture of gratitude for the bus operators and support staff who keep the system running every day.
In addition to this effort, Diane is well known among staff for creating and distributing her handmade “Gold Stars,” recognizing operators for their service and care.
To honor her contributions, the VVTA Board presented Diane with a certificate of recognition and a custom t-shirt designating her as the agency’s “(un)Official Senior Transit Advocate.”
“Diane reminds us that public transportation is more than just a service, it’s a lifeline and a connection to community,” said VVTA leadership. “Her kindness and appreciation uplift our entire team.”
VVTA extends its sincere thanks to Diane for her continued support and for embodying the spirit of Transit Employee Appreciation Day.
