All VVTA bus stops at Victor Valley College (VVC) will not be served between 8:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., October 19, 2017, due to campus participation in the Great California Shakeout earthquake drill. During this time, passengers should use the temporary bus stop on Francesca Road west of Spring Valley Parkway, which will serve routes 42, 43, 50, 50X, 53, and 55. At 1:16 p.m., all VVC bus stops will return to regular service.
VVTA will modify the bus stop lineup order at the Victor Valley College (VVC) Transfer Point, the Victorville Transfer Point, and the Barstow Library Transfer Point. The realignment takes effect Sunday, October 1 and coincides with systemwide changes.
VVTA will adjust systemwide fares October 1, 2017, which will align Victor Valley and Barstow fare structures, simplifying passenger travel between both areas. The adjustment will reduce the fare on some services, whereas on other services it may rise. While other transit agencies produce fare increases every two years, VVTA strives for consistency and has not adjusted fares in 10 years. VVTA remains the best value for its level of service, featuring some of the lowest fares in Southern California.
Due to the Labor Day holiday, there will be no Victor Valley Transit Authority services available Monday, September 4, 2017. This includes VVTA transit, administration, customer service, operations, and routing and scheduling services.
VVTA will modify the bus stop lineup order at Victor Valley College Upper Campus Transfer Point on Jacaranda Avenue. The realignment takes effect Sunday, August 13, 2017 and coincides with the launch of VVTA Route 42 on the same day. Heading northbound on Jacaranda Avenue, the stop lineup will be as follows: 42/45X, 45 Victorville, 55, 45 Hesperia, and 43/53.
VVTA Direct Access (ADA) certified riders are NOT REQUIRED TO PRESENT a VVTA-ISSUED PHOTO ID to ride Direct Access. Any government-issued photo ID is sufficient and must presented to the driver along with the VVTA Direct Access Card. However, a VVTA-issued Photo ID can be used alone and replace the need to show 2 different forms of identification to the driver (photo & ADA card). Additionally, VVTA Photo IDs can be used for identification purposes wherever you go. Complimentary VVTA Photo IDs can be obtained during regular business hours (M-F 8:30 – 4:30), at VVTA Hesperia (17150 Smoke Tree Street) At VVTA Barstow (1612 State Street) you can have a photo taken and a VVTA Photo ID will be mailed. Regular Direct Access fares apply if you chose to schedule a ride to VVTA offices.
VVTA will continue accepting Victor Valley College Summer 2017 Associated Student Body (ASB) and VVC Photo ID cards as bus passes on all VVTA Fixed and County Route buses through September 1, 2017. The VVTA Student ID does not and will not replace the VVC / Ram Pass ID cards. The VVTA Student Photo ID is a discount fare identification card available to verified students throughout VVTA’s service area. The VVTA Student Photo ID does not replace the VVC ASB and Photo ID pass cards, which is exclusive to VVC students.
In observance of the Independence Day holiday Tuesday, July 4, 2017, regularly scheduled VVTA services will not be available. VVTA offices will be closed. Regular VVTA services will resume Wednesday, July 5.
All VVTA routes serving Victor Valley College will be on detour Friday, June 9 due to the graduation ceremony. No VVC campus bus stops will be served during this time. Alternatively, passengers may use the temporary bus stops available on Francesca Road west of Spring Valley Lake Road.
Passengers using VVTA-issued Veteran, Senior, Disabled, Medicare, Student, and Direct Access discount ID cards will require replacement by the newly-designed VVTA Photo ID Cards, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. The old VVTA ID cards will become obsolete at that time.
VVTA will require valid photo identification for all passengers requesting discount fare, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. VVTA passenger ID cards that do not feature photo identification will become obsolete at that time. Valid government- or school-issued photo IDs will continue to be accepted for discount fare. Excludes VVC Ram Pass.
Victor Valley Transit Authority will require new photo identification cards for all passengers using discount passes, including Veteran, Senior, Disabled, Medicare, Student, and Direct Access, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. Current passenger ID cards will become obsolete at that time. Current discount pass holders may begin replacing their existing IDs on Monday, April 3, 2017. There is no replacement charge for upgrading to a new photo ID card. Passengers may begin the replacement process online at VVTA.org/pass or via email at Info@VVTA.org.
Due to the holidays, VVTA will not operate any services on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1. VVTA will operate its regular Saturday service schedule on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Victor Valley Transit Authority Routes 21 and 53 using the intersection at Bear Valley Road and Amargosa Road in Victorville will return to regular routing and bus stop service beginning Friday, November 18, 2016, following completion of major road construction in the vicinity.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, VVTA services will not be available Thursday, November 24, 2016. This includes Barstow and Victor Valley transit services and administration offices, customer service, and routing and scheduling. VVTA transit services and routing and scheduling will be available Friday, November 25, but the administration offices will be closed, reopening Monday, November 28.
VVTA will participate in the Great California ShakeOut earthquake drill Thursday, October 20, 2016. A one-minute service disruption will be experienced system wide at 10:20 a.m. Victor Valley College bus stops will not be serviced between 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Victor Valley Transit Authority routes that use the intersection at Bear Valley Road and Mariposa Road in Victorville will be on a long term road construction detour beginning Monday, October 3, 2016. VVTA Route 21 heading to the Mall of Victor Valley and Route 53 will be on detour until scheduled project completion in November. During this time, NTC Commuter Routes 101B-2, 102B, 103B, 104A, 107A, and 107B may also detour, depending on construction times.
Effective today only, Tuesday September 27, 2016, VVTA Route 53 bus stops on Amargosa Road and Desert Escape are inaccessible due to a repaving project at the Lowe’s and Walmart shopping center. Passengers may access Route 53 service at the scheduled Mall of Victor Valley stop and at Bear Valley Road stops east of Interstate 15.
