VVTA will adjust systemwide fares October 1, 2017, which will align Victor Valley and Barstow fare structures, simplifying passenger travel between both areas. The adjustment will reduce the fare on some services, whereas on other services it may rise. While other transit agencies produce fare increases every two years, VVTA strives for consistency and has not adjusted fares in 10 years. VVTA remains the best value for its level of service, featuring some of the lowest fares in Southern California.
Passengers using VVTA-issued Veteran, Senior, Disabled, Medicare, Student, and Direct Access discount ID cards will require replacement by the newly-designed VVTA Photo ID Cards, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. The old VVTA ID cards will become obsolete at that time.
VVTA will require valid photo identification for all passengers requesting discount fare, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. VVTA passenger ID cards that do not feature photo identification will become obsolete at that time. Valid government- or school-issued photo IDs will continue to be accepted for discount fare. Excludes VVC Ram Pass.
Victor Valley Transit Authority will require new photo identification cards for all passengers using discount passes, including Veteran, Senior, Disabled, Medicare, Student, and Direct Access, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. Current passenger ID cards will become obsolete at that time. Current discount pass holders may begin replacing their existing IDs on Monday, April 3, 2017. Due to the Adelanto Christmas Parade road closure, VVTA Route 31 will detour from beginning of service to 1 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016. During this time, the following bus stops will not be serviced: the stop (10118) on Seneca Road at Bellflower Street; the stop (10119) on Seneca Road at Lilac Road; the stop (10126) on Verbena Road at Villa Street.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, VVTA services will not be available Thursday, November 24, 2016. This includes Barstow and Victor Valley transit services and administration offices, customer service, and routing and scheduling. VVTA transit services and routing and scheduling will be available Friday, November 25, but the administration offices will be closed, reopening Monday, November 28.
Due to the Labor Day national holiday, there will be no Victor Valley Transit Authority services available Monday, September 5, 2016. VVTA Barstow and Victor Valley transit, administration, and operations services will not be available. VVTA Customer Service and Routing and Scheduling services will also be closed.
VVTA Routes 15, 31, 32, 45, and 45X will return to their regular routes and schedules on Thursday, June 23, following a detour caused by the Caltrans Slurry Seal Project on Palmdale Road, which completed early. Bus stops that were missed because of this detour will also return to regular service.
Victor Valley Transit Authority Routes 31, 32, 45, and 45X will be on detour from Monday, June 20 to Friday, June 24 due to Caltrans Slurry Seal Project road closures on Palmdale Road from El Evado Road to Green Tree Boulevard. Bus stops within this area will be missed. Delays are expected and may affect other routes within the transit system.
EFFECTIVE MAY 30, 2016: Due to the Memorial Day national holiday, there will be no service for all Victor Valley Transit Authority services in Victor Valley and Barstow, including Fixed Route, NTC Commuter, B-V Link, County, or Direct Access buses on Monday, May 30, 2016. VVTA Customer Service and Routing and Scheduling services will also be closed.
To improve on-time system performance, Victor Valley Transit Authority will modify the bus stop lineup order at the Victorville Transfer Point on Lorene Drive and 7th Street at Costco. The realignment will take effect the morning of Monday, April 18. Heading eastbound on Lorene Drive, the stop lineup will be as follows: 52, 31, 55, 45X, 45, 41, 32, 51, 22, and 15 B-V Link.
