Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) or Barstow Area Transit (BAT) services will not be available in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Unavailable services include customer service, routing and scheduling and all transit services. While the VVTA Administration Office will also be closed Friday, November 27, 2015, transit services will resume their regular schedules.
Due to the Veterans Day Parade and Freedom Mile Run on 7th Street in Victorville, Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 22 & Route 41 will detour Wednesday, November 11, 2015, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Due to road construction in Apple Valley, Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 43 buses will detour on the Jess Ranch loop from October 19, to December 21, 2015.
Due to road construction on the Pyrite Avenue and Topaz Avenue loop in Hesperia, Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 44 buses will detour from October 19, 2015 to January 8, 2016. From westbound on Live Oak Street, VVTA Route 44 will turn left on Topaz Avenue and continue left on Main Street, a left on Maple Avenue, a right on Willow Street, and continue regular route. The following bus stops will not be accessible during this period: on Pyrite Avenue at Chestnut Street, eastbound on Live Oak Street at Topaz Avenue, eastbound on Live Oak Lane & Tamarisk Avenue, and eastbound on Willow Street at Maple Avenue.
Due to the Great California Shakeout Earthquake Drill taking place at Victor Valley College, all Victor Valley Transit Authority buses will not stop at campus stops on Thursday, October 15, 2015, between 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. During this time, all buses will use the temporary stop located on the north side of Francesca Road between Tamarisk Road and Spring Valley Lake Parkway.
Due to the Happy Trails Parade, all Victor Valley Transit Authority buses operating in Apple Valley will not service the Apple Valley Post Office on Saturday, October 17, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. VVTA Routes 23, 40, 41, 43, and 47 will transfer at the Rite Aid on North Outer Hwy 18 at Navajo Road.
For better accessibility and passenger convenience, the Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 20 and 21 bus stop located on the north side of Phelan Road at Union Bank in Phelan will be relocated back to the south side of Phelan Road in front of the McDonald’s restaurant. This bus stop should be accessible to all passengers. No other bus stops will be affected by this change.
For better accessibility and passenger convenience, the Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 32 bus stop on the west side of Civic Drive, across from Victorville City Hall, will be relocated further south to the southwest corner of Civic Drive and Seneca Road, beginning Monday, October 12, 2015. This bus stop should be accessible to all passengers.
NTC Commuter morning buses at National Training Center/Fort Irwin will only stop at the first bus stop on Mates and South Depot Road tomorrow due to traffic restrictions associated with the 916th Support Brigade’s run. The evening return trip from Fort Irwin will operate as normal.
Due to the Victorville Fall Festival at Victorville City Hall on October 3, 2015, Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 32 will detour its route around Victorville City Hall on Civic Drive.
Due to low ridership and extreme cost of service, Barstow Area Transit / Victor Valley Transit Authority will discontinue Route 6 Fort Irwin Flyer (shopper bus service). The final day of service will be Thursday, September 24, 2015.
Due to construction on Interstate 15 at the Cajon Pass, Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 15 B-V Link passengers should expect service delays until construction completion, which is expected in the summer of 2016, according to CalTrans.
Hesperia, CA (August 14, 2015) – Victor Valley Transit Authority will launch the region’s first express route, providing non-stop bus service between Victor Valley College and the Victorville Transfer Hub at Costco. The service begins Monday and will feature three morning runs to VVC and three afternoon runs to Costco. The 45X Express Route will reduce passenger crowding and improve on-time performance for the popular 45 and 55 routes.
VVTA Route 45X: Beginning August 17th, 2015, Victor Valley Transit Authority will begin the new 45X Express Route 45X, which will run Monday through Thursday non-stop from Lorene Drive and 7th Street (COSTCO) to Victor Valley College (VVC) in the mornings, and non-stop from VVC to Lorene Drive and 7th Street (COSTCO) in the afternoon. The morning and afternoon runs feature three runs each. Both runs provide one-way service only.
In preparation for the Victor Valley College fall semester, Victor Valley Transit Authority RAM Pass fare validation begins Monday, July 27, 2015. Validated students who were registered for summer semester may continue the RAM Pass to August 25, 2015, when the fall semester begins and a new pass will be required.
The transportation program enables currently registered and validated students to ride the VVTA fixed route and county route system for free, using their valid VVC student identification or VVC Associated Student Body card as fare. Use of transit passes by individuals other than the person to which it was originally issued is considered fare evasion. Passes will be confiscated and the person possessing the pass subject to fines and prosecution.
The VVTA RAM Pass transit program was developed in partnership with Victor Valley College (VVC), delivering High Desert students access to education by reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality, and improving student parking.
Due to the major brush fire on the Interstate 15 north of Highway 138 below the Cajon Pass, all Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 15 B-V Link services are canceled. Passengers aboard Route 15 northbound and southbound 3:00 p.m. runs on Interstate 15 through Cajon Pass are safe and being transported via bus and supervisor vans to the Victorville Transit Hub at Lorene Drive and 7th Street. VVTA Route 20 is evacuating from Wrightwood to the Victor Valley Mall, where it will stand down along with Route 21. VVTA fleet resources remain on standby for emergency service evacuations.
In observance of Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, 2015, there will no services available by Victor Valley Transit Authority and Barstow Area Transit, including transit and customer service. VVTA Administration Office will be closed Friday, July 3, 2015, but transit service will continue as normal. Fireworks are never allowed on buses.
For VVTA Route 15 B-V Link passenger convenience, new bus stops have been installed northbound and southbound on Dale Evans Parkway at Johnson Road. These bus stops are for Route 15 only and should be accessible to all passengers. NOTE: Route 15 is an Inter-City Route. The fare will continue to be $6.00 to this location.
EFFECTIVE: APRIL 20-UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Due to reasons beyond VVTA’s control and road construction on Bear Valley Road between Dunia and Amethyst, VVTA Bus Routes 21, 52, and 54 will be detoured.
EFFECTIVE: March 25, 2015: Barstow will host a public meeting to discuss the merger of Barstow Area Transit (BAT) and Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon) at Barstow City Council Chambers, 220 East Mountain View Street Barstow, CA 92311. The public is encouraged to attend the committee workshop.
