As part of its Comprehensive Operational Analysis, VVTA is conducting in-person interviews with passengers from Monday, September 26 through Wednesday, September 28. Interviews will take place between noon and 3 p.m. at the dates and locations listed below. This effort will help refine transit services to better serve the High Desert community. Each interview takes just a few minutes to complete. All information is confidential.
Beginning on Monday, September 12, the VVTA Route 1 weekday schedule will only service the State Street bus stop at Excelsior Charter School during at 7:11 a.m., 7:43 a.m., 1:11 p.m., and 1:43 p.m. All other weekday stops will be by request only. Passengers may call 760-256-0311 to schedule a pick up.
Effective immediately, the VVTA Route 40 southbound bus stop on Central Road south of Ramona Road in Apple Valley is closed due to construction. VVTA Bus Stop 20087 on the east side of Central Road will be out of service until further notice. Alternatively, passengers may use the southbound stop (20078) on Central Road at Klickitat Avenue or the stop (20099) on Esaws Avenue at Central Road.
Due to the Labor Day national holiday, there will be no Victor Valley Transit Authority services available Monday, September 5, 2016. VVTA Barstow and Victor Valley transit, administration, and operations services will not be available. VVTA Customer Service and Routing and Scheduling services will also be closed.
Effective immediately, VVTA Route 20 and Route 21 return to regular service, following service disruptions caused by the Blue Cut Fire last week. Transit services that were disrupted by the wildfire have been restored.
Today, VVTA buses are transporting evacuees through the Cajon Pass for the first time since the Blue Cut Fire displaced them from their homes Tuesday. The experience through the charred landscape is “surreal,” and “the generosity of people has been comforting in very difficult time when many of us are at a complete loss.” The round trips throughout the day from the American Red Cross evacuation center in Fontana to the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds is connecting evacuees with vital support services that will help put their lives back on track.
Effective immediately, VVTA Route 21 service to Phelan is restored and will operate its regular Monday through Saturday route and schedule. Route 21 Sunday service to Wrightwood remains suspended until further notice due to the Blue Cut Fire. Sunday deviation service will be limited to road closures and active wildfire conditions.

Highway 138 from Interstate 15 to Los Angeles County Line remains closed. Beekley Road from Phelan Road to Highway 138 remains closed. Highway 2 from Highway 138 to Los Angeles County Line remains closed.
Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 15 B-V Link service between Victorville and San Bernardino will be restored to its regular schedule beginning 7 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 to San Bernardino.
VVTA Route 15 B-V Link service to San Bernardino Valley stops was suspended Tuesday due to the closure of Interstate 15 caused by the Blue Cut Fire in the Cajon Pass. Northbound and southbound I-15 traffic through the Cajon Pass has since been restored with limited service. According to the California Highway Patrol Inland Division, intermittent lane closures are expected while repairs are made. Therefore, passengers may experience delays during this time. Service between Victorville and Barstow was not affected.
Route 21 service to bus stops between Hesperia Super Target and Mall of Victor Valley via Amargosa Road remains operational. Route 21 service to bus stops outside of this area, including service to Phelan, remains suspended until further notice.
Route 20 service remains suspended until further notice due to ongoing road closures caused by active firefighting efforts in Phelan and Wrightwood.
VVTA personnel and assets remain on standby in support of emergency service agencies. Since the fire began, VVTA staff and transit vehicles have assisted in evacuating residents and pets from mandatory evacuation areas besieged by the fire.
Route 15 B-V Link provides service between San Bernardino, Victorville and Barstow six days a week. Weekday service between Victorville and San Bernardino begins at 7 a.m. and runs every two hours. The last trip from the San Bernardino Transit Center departs at 6:18 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive at the Victorville Transfer Point on Lorene Drive and 7th Street at 7:40 p.m. and continues to the Barstow Library stop for a scheduled 9 p.m. arrival.
Route 15 B-V Link averages approximately 250 weekday passengers. Route 15 B-V Link Saturday service began July 2016.
VVTA Route 21 service to bus stops between Hesperia Super Target and Mall of Victor Valley via Amargosa Road has been restored. Bus stops outside of this area are not being serviced due to the #BlueCutFire.
Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 20, Route 21, and Route 15 B-V Link service between Victorville and San Bernardino are currently nonoperational due to the Blue Cut Fire and subsequent road closures. Route 15 B-V Link service between Victorville and Barstow remains operational.
Other routes within the transit system are currently on time. Though, delays are possible due to road closures and subsequent traffic congestion.

According to California Highway Patrol, the following major roads remain closed: Interstate 15 between Ranchero Road and Interstate 215; Highway 138 between the Los Angeles County Line and Highway 173; and State Route 2 between Los Angeles County Line and Highway 138.
Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 20 service in Wrightwood, Route 20 and Route 21 service in Phelan, and Route 15 B-V Link service between Victorville and San Bernardino is suspended until further notice due to the Blue Cut Fire at Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass.
However, today, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, VVTA Route 15 passengers stranded in San Bernardino and Fontana will picked up at scheduled stops at scheduled times by Omnitrans buses and brought to San Bernardino Transit Center (SBTC). To ensure no passengers are left behind, Route 15 service from San Bernardino to Victorville will depart from SBTC at its regularly scheduled 6:18 p.m. departure time and will continue to its scheduled stops at Arrowhead Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center, and Fontana Metrolink. From the Fontana Metrolink the bus will travel the safest alternate route possible to the Victorville Transfer Point at Seventh Street and Lorene Drive near Costco. The arrival time at the Victorville Transfer Point is unknown.
VVTA Route 21 will only service stops between Hesperia Super Target and the Mall of Victor Valley.

According to California Highway Patrol, Interstate 15 between Oak Hills Road and Interstate 215, Lone Pine Canyon Road, and Cleghorn Road is closed. Highway 138 between Highway 2 and Summit Valley Road is closed.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, an American Red Cross emergency shelter has been established for evacuees at the Jessie Turner Community Center, 15556 Summit Avenue, Fontana. According to Hesperia Unified School District, an emergency shelter has been established at Sultana High School, 17311 Sultana Street, Hesperia.
Due to construction on the west side of Central Road north of Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley, the bus stop used by southbound VVTA Route 23 and 43 will not be serviced until further notice. Alternatively, passengers may use the southbound bus stop on Central Road south of Sioux Road.
VVTA Route 15 B-V Link fare media may be used as fare on VVTA Victor Valley and Barstow Fixed Route and County Route buses within six hours of purchase at no additional charge. Attempts to reuse Route 15 fare media to board or receive a discount on a second Route 15 segment is fraud/fare evasion, which is subject to confiscation, prosecution, and fines.
Beginning Monday, July 18, 2016, there will be rolling construction on eastbound and westbound Main Street between I Avenue and Cataba Road, lasting approximately three to six months. As a result, VVTA Routes 44 and 48 may experience delays. During this time, buses should have access to all bus stops.
VVTA Route 53 will return to regular route on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, following the completion of Bear Valley Road construction that began in April. The three stops that were missed west of Balsam Avenue, east of Cottonwood Avenue, and west of Cottonwood Avenue at Starbucks will return to regular service.
In observance of the Independence Day holiday Monday, July 4, 2016, there will be no VVTA bus service available in the Victor Valley. These include VVTA Fixed Route, County Route, NTC Commuter, B-V Link, and Direct Access. Regular services will resume Tuesday, July 5. VVTA offices in Hesperia will be closed Monday, July 4. The office will reopen Tuesday, July 5.
VVTA Routes 15, 31, 32, 45, and 45X will return to their regular routes and schedules on Thursday, June 23, following a detour caused by the Caltrans Slurry Seal Project on Palmdale Road, which completed early. Bus stops that were missed because of this detour will also return to regular service.
VVTA will launch a new Direct Access scheduling software on Thursday, June 23. The new system is simple, efficient, and makes scheduling easy for ADA-certified passengers. Normal operating procedures will continue to apply. You may notice a difference in your usual negotiated scheduled pick-up times.
