Victor Valley Transit Authority services will not operate for the Memorial Day national holiday on Monday, May 29. All transit and administrative services will not be available during this time.
Due to a landscape improvement project, Victorville Transportation Center parking access will be limited from Thursday, May 18 through June 2017. Additional parking will be available east of the Greyhound building at the Amtrak parking lot. This will not affect VVTA transportation services.
Passengers using VVTA-issued Veteran, Senior, Disabled, Medicare, Student, and Direct Access discount ID cards will require replacement by the newly-designed VVTA Photo ID Cards, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. The old VVTA ID cards will become obsolete at that time.
VVTA will require valid photo identification for all passengers requesting discount fare, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. VVTA passenger ID cards that do not feature photo identification will become obsolete at that time. Valid government- or school-issued photo IDs will continue to be accepted for discount fare. Excludes VVC Ram Pass.
Victor Valley Transit Authority will require new photo identification cards for all passengers using discount passes, including Veteran, Senior, Disabled, Medicare, Student, and Direct Access, beginning Saturday, July 1, 2017. Current passenger ID cards will become obsolete at that time. Current discount pass holders may begin replacing their existing IDs on Monday, April 3, 2017. There is no replacement charge for upgrading to a new photo ID card. Passengers may begin the replacement process online at VVTA.org/pass or via email at Info@VVTA.org.
Due to the Christmas on Route 66 Holiday Street Fair in Barstow, VVTA Routes 1, 3, and NTC Commuter Routes 101B, 104B, and 106B will detour from 3 p.m. to end of service on Friday, December 2, 2016. During this time, the following bus stops will not be serviced: the stop (30053) on northbound 2nd Avenue at Cozy Avenue; the stop (30054) on southbound 2nd Avenue at Cozy Avenue; the stop (30093) on westbound Main Street at 6th Avenue.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, VVTA services will not be available Thursday, November 24, 2016. This includes Barstow and Victor Valley transit services and administration offices, customer service, and routing and scheduling. VVTA transit services and routing and scheduling will be available Friday, November 25, but the administration offices will be closed, reopening Monday, November 28.
Due to the Labor Day national holiday, there will be no Victor Valley Transit Authority services available Monday, September 5, 2016. VVTA Barstow and Victor Valley transit, administration, and operations services will not be available. VVTA Customer Service and Routing and Scheduling services will also be closed.
The Victorville Transportation Center on D Street in Victorville will reopen to transit services Monday, June 20, 2016. Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 22, 41, 101-B, 102B, 103A, 103B, 107A, and 107B service will be restored to the scheduled stop. VVTA Vanpool participants may begin using the Park & Ride location for parking and to make commuter carpool connections when reopened.
EFFECTIVE MAY 30, 2016: Due to the Memorial Day national holiday, there will be no service for all Victor Valley Transit Authority services in Victor Valley and Barstow, including Fixed Route, NTC Commuter, B-V Link, County, or Direct Access buses on Monday, May 30, 2016. VVTA Customer Service and Routing and Scheduling services will also be closed.
The Victorville Transportation Center on D Street in Victorville will temporarily close for construction. Beginning Monday, May 9, 2016 until Friday, July 1, 2016, Victor Valley Transit Authority Route 22, 41, 101, 102, 103, and 107 and VVTA Vanpool will not stop at this location.
Beginning March 1st, 2016, Victor Valley Transit Authority’s NTC Commuter will change Fares and Fare Media. However, March passes can be purchased beginning February 17, 2016.
Sales for the March 2016 NTC Commuter passes will not be available for purchase until Wednesday, February 17, 2016. In so much as the Congress has approved an increase in the Mass Transit Benefit Plan (MTBP) to $255 per month for 2016, the VVTA Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 and will subsequently vote whether or not to reinstate the NTC monthly Military Pass at a flat rate of $255.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) Board of Directors will hold a public hearing 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 during its regularly-scheduled board meeting at 17150 Smoke Tree Street, Hesperia, California 92345. The public hearing is regarding the reinstatement of the NTC Commuter fare for active military and Department of Defense (DOD) workers who receive transportation funding through the Mass Transit Benefit Plan (MTBP). As congress has set the transit fares, including the MTBP, at the same level as parking expenses, beginning January 1, 2016, the MTBP funding will increase to $255 per month. As a result, VVTA proposes reinstating the military pass fare at the $255 per month level with the monthly passes being purchased through VVTA vending machines to be placed strategically at Fort Irwin.
Due to road repaving, Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) NTC Commuter route stops at Fort Irwin on Inner Loop Road will close Monday, November 23, 2015. All buses will use temporary stops on Barstow Road and Langford Lake Road, and Barstow Road and 3rd Street.
NTC Commuter morning buses at National Training Center/Fort Irwin will only stop at the first bus stop on Mates and South Depot Road tomorrow due to traffic restrictions associated with the 916th Support Brigade’s run. The evening return trip from Fort Irwin will operate as normal.
In observance of Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, 2015, there will no services available by Victor Valley Transit Authority and Barstow Area Transit, including transit and customer service. VVTA Administration Office will be closed Friday, July 3, 2015, but transit service will continue as normal. Fireworks are never allowed on buses.
