Hesperia, Calif. (September 7, 2017) – Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) announces the hiring of Simon Herrera as Senior Operations Manager. In the newly created position, Herrera will oversee the IT, marketing, operations, planning, and procurement departments.
“With the tremendous growth and complexity of the agency’s vast service area, VVTA required a solutions-driven professional who is adept at building strong teams and is equipped with a thorough understanding of VVTA operations,” said VVTA Executive Director Kevin Kane. “Simon’s resume speaks volumes to his qualifications. I have had the opportunity to witness first hand Simon’s natural leadership skills, his ability to solve complex problems and his teambuilding proficiency.”
Herrera, who most recently served as the Transdev general manager for the VVTA operations / maintenance contract since 2007, delivers 27 years of transit experience to the agency. He is touted as one of the industry’s youngest general managers, landing the position at 28-years-old with TCT Incorporated, which operated the LADOT contract in Vernon, California.
