New Barstow Routes 28 & 29 will operate as County Routes beginning Sunday, October 1

Beginning October 1, 2017, the new Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) Route 28
and Route 29
will operate as VVTA County Routes, featuring route deviation and flag down bus stop service within the unincorporated county area. County Route Fare is required for passengers boarding within the unincorporated county area.

Route 28 Barstow/Hinkley/Helendale
, which will replace Route 4, will begin county area service on Old Highway 58 from Irwin Road westward and on Main Street/National Trails Highway from Delaney Road southward.
Route 29 Barstow/Newberry Springs
, which will replace Route 5, will begin county area service from the east side of the Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) on National Trails Highway.
Within the county area, VVTA Route Deviation service is available within 3/4 of a mile of the route and will require Route Deviation Fare. Pickups are available by reservation only. Reservations must be made at least two hours in advance and made no more than the day prior to pickup. Pickup and drop off is available where safe and is available on county-maintained dirt roads, pending road conditions. Drop offs are pending availability, and requests must be made to driver.
